Homeschool Collective
Homeschooling, with community.
At Peninsula Roots Homeschool Collective, you don’t have to homeschool alone.
We offer drop-off enrichment classes, community connection, and hands-on learning experiences for homeschool families in Door County. Our programming is designed to support families while giving children meaningful opportunities to learn, create, move, collaborate, and build friendships.
We honor that every family approaches core academics differently, so our classes are not meant to replace your home curriculum. Instead, we offer specialized enrichment experiences taught by passionate local educators, artists, and community members.

Art
Join us for a ten-week journey into the world of art-making! Each week, we'll explore a different technique, tradition, or idea. We'll look at folk art passed down across generations and continents, the living artists still carrying those traditions forward today, and big questions like: What is art for? Is it about the process of making something with your hands, or about sparking a feeling in someone who sees it?
Along the way, we'll dig into the stories behind the art — the history, culture, and beliefs that shaped why people made what they made, and what it meant to the communities who made it. Students will experiment with hands-on projects inspired by artistic traditions from around the globe, building skills in observation, creativity, and self-expression along the way. No prior art experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try something new each week. This class may pair with our companion cooking class, connecting food and art traditions from the same regions and cultures.
Cooking
Students will learn practical kitchen skills while preparing delicious recipes from scratch with a professional chef with years of experience teaching children how to cook, including knife safety, measuring, food preparation, nutrition, and teamwork.
Why It Matters
Cooking combines math, science, creativity, and responsibility in one meaningful life skill while helping students become confident and independent in the kitchen.
